Local residents and families are making a splash at the newly refurbished swimming pools at Swan Active Ballajura which re-opened on December 20, 2019.
The centre re-opened just in time for the summer school holidays after having undergone a significant $2 million upgrade, including fully re-tiled swimming pools, a revamped café and reception area, and extra outdoor shade.
City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said completion of the major project was welcomed news for members who can now enjoy all that the facility had to offer.
“The long-term benefits of the newly refurbished centre were well worth the wait and we hope to see our local community and families using the facilities this summer,” Mayor Bailey said.
Cr John McNamara said the now contemporary community hub was a major asset for the City of Swan and vital for community connectedness.
“Swan Active Ballajura is one of three important community hubs for social interaction and recreation for all ages and abilities,” he said.
The re-opening of Swan Active Ballajura completes the updating of the Ballajura Community Hub which will be celebrated as part of an official opening on Saturday, January 18 from 10am to 2pm.
The free family fun day will be your opportunity to check out Swan Active Ballajura, in addition to the newly refurbished Ballajura Library and city offices.
