The City of Wanneroo has awarded a tender from local business Carcare Motor Company to undertake light vehicle servicing and repairs.

The tender is for an initial period of two years, with two 12-month options to extend at the City’s discretion.

“The City of Wanneroo is proud to invest in our local community,” said Mayor Tracey Roberts.

“We always endeavour to support our local businesses, and Carcare has a proven record of delivering quality service to the City, having performed our light vehicle servicing since 2014.

“They take on work experience students from Wanneroo, Joseph Banks, Woodvale and Mindarie Secondary Colleges, helping our young people gain the skills they need for future employment. I congratulate Carcare on their successful tender application.”

Carcare owner Darryl Smith said, “Carcare has been family owned and operated for the last 10 years. We have developed a great name amongst our clientele with our professionalism and value for money. As a local business, we are particularly delighted to continue providing our excellent service to the City of Wanneroo.”

Two-thirds of Carcare’s employees live in the City of Wanneroo. Carcare purchases 80-85% of vehicle parts from dealerships based in Wangara and Clarkson.

The City’s fleet of passenger and light commercial vehicles require regular servicing, with about 180 services conducted every year. The tender was advertised in October and closed in November.
