Shire of Kent is inviting public comments on the draft Local Planning Policy No.1 for Heritage Places.
A the Ordinary Meeting of Council held 19 June 2024, Council resolved to advertise the draft Local Planning Policy No.1 for Heritage Places. The draft policy provides guidance on the assessment of development proposals which affect local heritage places and information to assist with the protection and maintenance of local heritage places within the Shire of Kent.

Draft Local Planning Policy No. 1 – Heritage Places
In accordance with the procedural requirements of clause 4 in Part 2 of the Deemed Provisions of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, the requirement for public advertising period must not be less than 21 days.
Opportunities for public comment are now open and submissions will be closed at 4.00pm on the 15 July 2024. Please email comments / submissions to [email protected] , please note that all submissions are not considered confidential and may be referred to Council to assist with the proposal.
Following the conclusion of the advertising period, Council will consider any submissions received and resolve to either proceed, proceed with modifications, or not proceed with the draft Local Planning Policy.
