Boddington is moving forward with an exciting project that celebrates its rich mining heritage. A 793D dump truck, generously donated by Newmont Boddington Gold, will soon become a permanent feature of the town, serving as a unique tourist attraction.

Following community consultation, the Old School Oval has been confirmed as the site for this display. This location was endorsed by Council in November, taking into account its visibility, central position, and accessibility. The site offers ample space for the truck, while maintaining a safe and visually appealing setback from the road.

The dump truck display aims to showcase Boddington's gold mining heritage, enhance the town’s appeal as a destination for visitors, and create a landmark that supports local businesses by attracting foot traffic.

During the consultation period, the community expressed strong support for a site that was in a central location, linking the main street and local businesses, as well as one with high visibility and proximity to other key attractions.

The installation of the display is expected to be complete in the first half of 2025.
