Get ready for Weekend on the Green, two of the City of Rockingham’s most popular annual events happening at the Village Green. As part of the City’s Summer Series, Symphony on the Green on 22 February and Performance in the Park on 23 February are set to thrill visitors with musical and theatrical surprises along with a range of activities alongside the main events.
Enjoy the soaring orchestral notes of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) with Symphony on the Green on Saturday 22 February. Conductor Jessica Gethin will take you on a journey under the stars with arrangements from iconic movies and TV shows, nostalgic musical surprises, and performances by superstar solo vocalists Sophie Foster and Solomon Pitt. With family entertainment beginning at 5.30pm, grab dinner from the food trucks on site and settle down for a picnic before WASO takes the stage at 7pm for a magical night of entertainment.
Return to the Village Green on Sunday 23 February for Performance in the Park and join Penny, the Snowflake Queen and friends as they unravel the mystery of the disappearing snowflakes in The Snowflake Festival Mystery, an enchanting show bursting with music and snowy surprises. Pre-show entertainment and activities start from 5pm.
City of Rockingham Mayor Hamblin said the City was very excited to present a weekend of free, family-friendly entertainment.
The Weekend on the Green presents some of our most loved events, bringing family, friends and the community together to experience music and theatre out on the Village Green as part of the City of Rockingham’s Summer Series.“With musical performances by WASO with Symphony on the Green, and a magical snowflake theatrical adventure with Performance in the Park on the very next day, it’s going to be a fabulous weekend of free entertainment, so pack a picnic and get ready to enjoy yourself with your friends and family,” Mayor Hamblin said.
Weekend on the Green is part of the City’s family-friendly Summer Series, aimed at encouraging people to connect with others and engage in fun, outdoor activities during the summer. Visitors to these events are encouraged not to smoke, vape or drink alcohol.
Both of these performances are suitable for people of all ages. Tickets are not required.
