The WA Tree Festival 2025 is a community celebration of trees in our urban areas and beyond, running from 12 April – 10 May.

The Town of Bassendean has organised a series of community events for the WA Tree Festival, including a variety of workshops, subsidised trees for residents and school holiday activities.

Why celebrate trees? Trees provide a range of benefits, including:  

cooling our homes, streets, and environment (canopy cover can cool areas by up to five degrees, and reduce cooling costs in the home) providing shade and habitat for wildlife cleaning the air and improving mental and physical health reducing heat-related illnesses and death during heat waves increasing amenity and economic value of our homes, streets, and reserves (homes on tree-lined streets are worth an average of $16,000 more than homes on streets without trees).
