What is happening?The Town of Bassendean has appointed a contractor to revitalize the Roy Hookway Stairs. This project involves removing the existing limestone steps and replacing them with concrete-filled steps to improve durability and safety.
When is this happening?This work is scheduled from 28 April 2025 – 9 May 2025 between 7am to 5pm.
What should I expect?To ensure safety during construction, the Roy Hookway Stairs will be temporarily closed for the duration of the works.
An alternative footpath route is available and is indicated on the project signage at Roy Hookway and below.
During construction, you may notice increased vehicle movement, noise, and dust in the area. Traffic management signage will be in place for the duration of the works to guide pedestrians and motorists safely. The Town is committed to minimizing disruptions to the community wherever possible.
