Date25 August 2023 The City of Rockingham has completed seabed dredging works at the Point Peron Boat Harbour, improving safe navigability of the harbour for boaties. Work began in deeper waters on the north side of the limestone breakwater at the boat harbour entrance, before moving southward towards the boat ramps. Mayor Deb Hamblin said the project was an action in the City’s Coastal Facilities Strategy.“Point Peron Boat Launching Facility is the most popular boating facility in the City and is enjoyed by locals and visitors from across WA year-round,” Mayor Hamblin said.  The dredging was required as part of the regular maintenance to provide a safe and efficient boating experience for the community.
