Five of the 12 awards are new and have been introduced to reflect the diverse range of athletes, volunteers and sporting clubs that operate in the City of Rockingham. Highlighting the calibre of talent in these annual awards, last year’s Junior Sports Star of the Year, Declan McGhee, won state and national BMX titles before representingAustralia at the UCI BMX World Championships and achieved two podium finishes. Meanwhile, Senior Sports Star of the Year, Ashlyn Mohr, excelled in tenpin bowling and was selected to represent Australia at the IBF Under 21 World Championships.
