Date07 February 2025 The City of Rockingham welcomes the recent state government announcement that Expressions of Interest will soon be called for the development and operation of a new private marina at the intersection of Wanliss Street and Rockingham Beach Road.With the second highest number of boat registrations in the Perth metropolitan area, the City has been advocating to the state government for many years for the development of an environmentally sound marina to meet current and future demand from recreational vessel owners.Mayor Deb Hamblin said the proposed location had already received strong support from the community in previous consultation.“Over the long history of the City’s efforts to get a marina development, we have twice gone to our community to get their feedback and gauge the level of interest in a marina.
