Date27 September 2024 At its August Ordinary meeting the City of Rockingham Council voted to bestow the title of Freeman of the City on former Mayor Barry Sammels for his sustained contribution to the community over many years as a Councillor, as Mayor, and through his own voluntary involvement in a wide range of community organisations and activities. Mr Sammels was first elected as a Councillor representing Rockingham Ward in 1997.
