Ararat Rural City Council in collaboration with Rural Australians for Refugees invites you to save the date for our community’s annual Rural Harmony Day, to be held Saturday 22 March at the Gordon Street Reserve Facility. The day will be filled with mesmerising performances, delicious cuisines, community group information, and engaging workshops and activities, showcasing the vivid array of cultures living within Ararat Rural City. While the precise line-up of events is still under wraps, previous Harmony Days have featured the dynamic Fijian, Tongan and Samoan dancers from AME Systems, rhythmic presentations from Solomon Islands staff of Ararat Meat Exports, the Karen Don Dance group, traditional instrumental performances from the Wyndham Karen community, the Ararat Community Church Choir and the Wyndham Chin community choir.Ararat Rural Harmony Day 2025 is supported by the Victorian Government’s Multicultural Festivals and Events Program. “Connection is important to all communities, though it’s particularly paramount in regional areas,” says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Jo Armstrong.
